Match Report
Bromsgrove School Girls-U11A vs  IAPS Hockey Regional Tournament
On: Friday, 12 Oct 2018
Venue: Away

The U11As competed in the IAPS Regional hockey competition at Cheltenham College. Despite ‘Storm Callum’, the girls were determined to play their best under difficult hockey conditions. Up first in their group was a very strong Clifton College (who eventually went on to win the entire competition) and lost 3 - 0. Bromsgrove were undeterred going into their next game against Wycliffe College and played some super hockey to win 1 - 0. Their next game was against King’s Hawford who we had already lost to in a school fixture. Bromsgrove were drawing up until the last 20 seconds and then unfortunately King’s snatched a late winner and we lost 2 - 1. This put us as third in our group and into the Plate competition. Our next game was against Westonbirt and we played our best hockey of the day to win 4 - 0. In the Plate semi-final we played KES Bath. This is as a very evenly matched game and by the final whistle the score was 0 - 0 and onto penalty flicks. Our three takers stepped up bravely to secure a 1 - 0 win after Amelia Abraham saved two of KES Bath’s attempts at goal. This put us in the Plate final against Dean Close. Again, Bromsgrove were very evenly matched but narrowly lost 1 - 0. The girls were presented with silver medals. Very well deserved.
