Match Report
Bromsgrove School Boys-U18A vs  tbc
On: Saturday, 09 Nov 2019
Venue: Away

I am pleased to report that on Saturday 9th a group of our fencers traveled to Billeseley Tennis Centre to take part in the 'Cocks Moors Woods Epee Competition'.

This well atended local open draws fencers from as far apart as London and Manchester.

In the Mens event Edwin Hon Tik Wang compeating for his first time as a 'Bromsgrove Fencer' didn't have a particually good pool, winning only one fight, to be seeded 45 out of 66. However, he got better as the day went on. He had a 'bye' through the 128, won his last 64 15-12, his last 32 15-6 before going out in the last 16 15-11 to finish 16th over all.

Meanwhile Elsa Tsia and Tatiana Morikova were finding it hard going in the Women's event: Elsa finished 13th and Tatiana finished 17th.

Artem Veprev was also hoping to join the squad but had to withdraw due to work pressures.

ne a final note, not only did Edwin acheive an excellent result, but he also demonstrated wonderful sportsmanship when, in the last 32, a light came up, the opponant returnd to his line accepting he had been hit, the referee awarded the point and Edwin pointed out that he had hit the floor at the end of the pary and had, in fact, not scored the point at all. Well done Edwin: proud to have you competing under the Bromsgrove banner.
