On Wednesday 3rd July, our Prep athletes who qualified through to the 50th Preparatory Schools Athletics National Championships competed at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. Our girls performed fantastically well in a high level of competition.
Results were as follows:
Merryn Bird - 6th in the 75m hurdles heat (13.61 secs) and 16th in high jump (1.30m)
Evie Ashurst - 4th in high jump (1.30m) and 5th position overall in the 200m (30.61 secs)
Sophie Longworth - 12th in the 1500m (5 mins 34 secs)
Charlotte Ascough - 8th in the 1500m (5 mins 11 secs)
Martha Blower - 5th in the 1500m (4 mins 56 secs)
Sofia Neale - 12th in long jump (3.78m) and 5th in the 800m (in a personal best time of 2.23 mins)
Kayla Nwigwe - 6th in 100m heat (13.86 secs)
Sophia MacCormick - 4th In 100m heat (14.98 secs)
Aaliyah Jackson - 2nd in the 100m heat and came 8th in the final (14.71 secs)
Eva Thorpe - 10th in discus (16.41m)
Felicity Durkan - 5th in 300m (44.52 secs)
Riah Bailey - 7th in the 300m (46.39 secs)
Hollie Walker - 16th in triple jump (7.95m)
U12 4 x 100m relay team (Miela Evans, Sophia MacCormick, Aaliyah Jackson and Evie Ashurst) - 1st in heat and 4th in the final (60.05 secs)
U14 4 x 100m relay team (Ama Addo, Kayla Nwigwe, Eva Thorpe and Felicity Durkan) - 8th overall (54.84 secs)
